Administrative and Tax
Alem & Associates’ Administrative and Tax Practice Group represents individuals, business organizations, and other entities before municipal, state, and administrative agencies. We seek permits and licenses, defend enforcement and disciplinary proceedings, contest tax decisions, and pursue governmental approvals.
Our practice also offers legal services to clients participating in public bids and in privatization of state-owned enterprises. We counsel clients on licenses, permits, and concessions and assist them from the negotiation stage to the preparation of proposals and drafting and revision of related agreements.
We advise on complex regulatory and tax disputes against governments and government entities. Our ability to blend local and international expertise in litigating disputes related to all practice groups has helped us remain leading counsels on administrative law issues with unique track record in litigating amongst the most sophisticated cases before the Lebanese State Council (Conseil D’Etat).
We have advised government entities, central banks, and administrative bodies on legal reforms, law drafting, and policy enabling. We are also involved in advising corporations and individuals on regulatory licensing, compliance, and due process.
